This project, first conceived as an exhibition and later as a photobook, emerged at the end of a chapter of life marked by displacement

Neither quite a departure nor truly a return, but rather a way of inhabiting thresholds, passages, the folds of an inner geography

It was within this context that the question of borders asserted itself with force: visible or invisible boundaries drawn between bodies, territories, and narratives

These images (portraits, vegetation, textures, structures) form a sensitive cartography in which each photograph gently attempts to shift perception

Spilling beyond the lines lets contours tremble, space open, certainties pause

Por algum tempo

Que afinal passou depressa, como tudo tem de passar

Hoje eu me sinto

Como se ter ido fosse necessário para voltar

Tanto mais vivo

De vida mais vivida, dividida pra lá e pra cá

Gilberto Gil, Back in Bahia

For me, photography is a way of remaining in motion without fleeing, of entering into contact without imposing,

of capturing that fleeting je-ne-sais-quoi that connects and reveals
